GOLD – Jade Jones Head-Hunts a Taekwondo Olympic Gold

To round off today Team GB’s women have once again showed their grit and fight, this time in the shape of Jade Jones who has just become the Olympic gold medallist in the featherweight taekwondo category. The 19 year old from Wales defeated China’s Yuzhuo Hou, former world Taekwondo champion, 6-4 in the final after defeating the number 1 seeded fighter Li-Cheng Tseng of Taiwan in the semi-final earlier today.  Known as the ‘Head-hunter’ due to her penchant for delivering blows to her opponent’s head, Jade stormed through her preliminary round matches by living up to her nickname, scoring 4 points for every kick that made contact with her opposition’s helmet.

Well Done Jade!
