Football – something people like to watch

Unless you’ve been under a rock all weekend, you may have noticed that football is back.  It took a breather for about 20 mins over the summer,  but now its back and ready to take over all the headlines, sports pages and conversation for the next 11 months and 29 days. I’m not even going to pretend I can write about football, its more the point at the end that I’m trying to get across. Please read on:

So Arsenal Ladies continued their post-Olympic season this weekend with a match away at Everton, giving no less than nine of the recent Olympic Team GB squad their first run out for their respective clubs since London 2012.  The game finished 2-2, Arsenal coming from behind twice to secure a draw thanks to a penalty taken by Little and a goal with 12 mins to go from sub Jordan Nobbs.

At the same time, Arsenal Men’s squad took to the field yesterday for their first match of the season against Sunderland which resulted in a 0-0 draw after 90mins.

60,078 attended the Emirates to watch the Gunners open their season to a lack luster 0-0 result

618 attended to see Arsenal Ladies vs. Everton (Everton’s biggest crowd of the season)

Just saying….
